This therapy involves using direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. This direct pressure works by physically breaking down these adhesion to relieve pain and restore normal movement. Deep Tissue is not always pushing as hard as can be but the focus is working deeper layers of the muscle.
In 2018 I pursued a Personal Training Certification through NASM – National Academy of Sports Medicine. I recognized the importance of following through the rehab process with physical therapy movements, massage therapy then exercise and strengthening. I will now be able to help clients further improve flexibility, stabilization, and strength to bring them to a more functional capacity.
